Relaxation is a skill we can develop with practice. People who learn to deeply relax their muscles obtain many physical and mental health benefits including: lowering blood pressure, reducing pain sensation, easing stress disorders, stabilizing mood, reducing anxiety, and increasing frustration tolerance and anger management.

I have recorded a passive relaxation exercise that you can play to help you practice deep muscle relaxation. I recommend that you practice this or another relaxation exercise daily. With practice, you will be able to walk through the steps from memory.

I suggest that you practice this exercise in a comfortable location that is quiet and free of interruption. This may mean turning off phones, closing a door, and/or telling others that you are not to be disturbed. The exercise lasts seventeen minutes.

I hope you find this helpful in the pursuit of your health and wellbeing.
